Support
FuelJot is made by one person. Email goes to me, not a ticket queue.

If a number looks wrong, tell me which vehicle and which fill-up. That is almost always enough for me to reproduce it. The fastest route is Settings → Send Feedback inside the app, which fills in your app and iOS version for you.
Common questions
Why is my economy blank for some fill-ups?
Economy can only be measured between two tanks that were filled the same way. If a fill-up was a partial top-up, or the one before it was, there is no honest number to show for that stretch — so FuelJot shows nothing rather than a made-up figure.
The same applies to the first entry for a vehicle: there is nothing before it to measure against.
I always fill to the brim. I never wait for the low-fuel light. Does that matter?
No. Pick "Filled to full" every time and your numbers will be right. The three fill-up styles exist so that people who don't always do the same thing still get accurate results — full-tank entries and low-fuel-light entries are kept in separate chains that never mix.
I forgot to log a fill-up. Is my history ruined?
No. Mark the next entry as "missed one before this" and only that stretch is set aside. Everything before and after still counts.
Can I change units later?
Yes, any time, and it changes nothing about your records. FuelJot always stores data in metric internally and converts only for display. Switching between MPG (US), MPG (UK), L/100 km and km/L is purely a display setting.
I moved countries. What happens to old entries in the old currency?
They keep the currency you logged them in, and the amounts are never converted. Exchange rates change; what you actually paid does not. Change the currency in Settings and new entries use the new one.
How do I get my data out?
Vehicle screen → ••• → Export CSV. This is free and always will be, whether you buy Plus or not. You can send the file anywhere — Files, AirDrop, email.
Import works too, so you can bring in history from another app. If the columns don't line up automatically you can map them by hand during import.
Scanning didn't read the number correctly.
Tap the number in the photo instead of relying on the suggestion list, or just type it. Recognition is a shortcut, not a requirement — nothing in the app depends on it.
It reads best in good light, straight-on, with the whole display in frame.
Buying Plus
What is free, and what needs FuelJot Plus?
| Free, forever | FuelJot Plus |
|---|---|
| Unlimited vehicles and entries All three fill-up styles Scanning Service records and reminders CSV import and export Cost per fill-up and per 100 miles No ads, no account |
Economy and spending charts Backup to your own iCloud Drive |
Is it a subscription?
No. Plus is a single $4.99 purchase. Nothing renews, nothing expires, and there is nothing to cancel.
The rest of the app — logging, scanning, service reminders, CSV import and export — is free with no time limit, so you can use FuelJot for as long as you like without buying anything.
I already paid but the app says I haven't.
Tap Restore on the Plus screen, or Settings → Restore Purchases. That asks the App Store to re-check your account. If it still doesn't unlock, email me with the Apple Account you purchased with and I'll help you sort it out with Apple.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. I have no way to issue a refund myself.
Reporting a bug
What helps most, in order:
- What you expected to see, and what you saw instead
- Which vehicle and which entry
- Your units setting (MPG US, MPG UK, L/100 km, km/L)
- A screenshot, if the problem is visible on screen
If a calculation looks wrong, exporting the CSV for that vehicle and attaching it is the single most useful thing you can send — it lets me reproduce your exact numbers.
